Flip Disposable Insert Review

Fits – 8-35 pounds

Overall Performance:  ★★★☆☆

A pack of 18 disposable inserts retails for $4.95 - $6.50 and are available at both of my affiliates, links to right.

This disposable insert is moderately absorbent.  It is a great insert to use during waking hours, but I found that unless I doubled them up, I would have leaks during nap.  I never used this insert for night time use.  Once doubled, it was very absorbent.

If you are looking for the thinnest/trimmest insert ever…this is it!  This insert is the thickness of approximately 5 sheets of paper!  Even with the cover it is thinner than a regular disposable diaper!  Now that is trim!  The disposable insert fits nicely into the flaps at either end of the cover and has fold out pieces the entire length of each side to contain messes.  I would not use this insert in a cover that does not have flaps at both ends as the insert will roll and bunch.  When using a cover on a smaller setting, simply fold the insert to fit.

This insert is about as easy as you can get with an insert and cover.  When soiled, simply throw the insert in the disposable diaper pail or trash, depending on where you are.  You can wipe the cover, put a new insert in, back on baby, and ready to go!  Very simple!  This is a great system for out and about or travel!  Plus, these inserts are very soft and comfy against baby skin.

Flip has made these inserts so that they will fit all of the Cotton Babies brand diapers:  BumGenius, Flip, and Econobum.  While they do fit these brands best, you can use them with most diapers, even pockets.  To use your pocket diaper as a shell for these inserts, simply take the regular inserts out of the pocket, and then lay this disposable insert on top of the fleece so that the disposable insert is between baby and the diaper.  In this way, you can use your pockets as a shell and be able to use these disposable inserts.  This works well in a pinch, but if you are needing to use non cloth diaper safe creams, be very careful when using pockets as a shell as the cream may ruin your pocket diaper.
