OsoCozy Bleached Indian Prefolds Review

This Prefold IS included in the OsoCozy Giveaway.

Size Premie 2x6x2 - Fits 4-10 pounds (white edge)
Size Newborn 4x6x4 – Fits 6-10 pounds (yellow edge)
Size Infant 4x6x4 or 4x8x4 – Fits 7-15 pounds (blue or green edge)
Size Regular 4x6x4 – Fits 15-30 pounds (white edge)
Size Premium 4x8x4 – 15-30 pounds (blue edge)
Size Toddler 4x8x4 – Fits 30-45 pounds (green edge)

I was given these prefolds in both the Premium and Toddler Sizes to review.

Premium Size – 20.5x13.5 inches washed (blue edge)
Toddler Size – 21.5x15.5 inches washed (green edge)

Price Per Prefold: ★★★★☆  The price per dozen is approximately $30 for the premium size and $39 for the Toddler size.  This makes the price per prefold $2.50 and $3.25.  Most places offer deals that the more you buy, the more you save.  So as you buy a larger total of prefolds, the price per prefold goes down.

You can see the size difference between the Premium size and the Toddler size.

Absorbency: ★★★★☆ OsoCozy warns that it may take a few washes for the prefolds to gain absorbency, but I did notice that it took longer for these prefolds to gain absorbency.  Even so, over the weeks that I have been using these prefolds, the bleached prefolds just do not seem as absorbent as the unbleached.  This prefold is still very absorbent, but I do see a difference between the bleached and the unbleached.

The blue/green stitching to differentiate between the sizes.

Ease of Use: ★★★★☆  As with most prefolds, these come with a learning curve.  If you trifold them into a cover, each cover is a different size and you may have to fold differently to fit each cover.  The Premium size is great for during the day and for naps because it is a little smaller and more trim than the toddler size.  I used the toddler size mostly for naps (when I knew it would be a long nap) and at night as it is larger, can absorb more, and is bulkier.  On my skinny 24 pound daughter, I did prefer the premium size.  However, I love that OsoCozy has made a toddler size for larger children.  Many other kinds of diapers only fit until 30-40 pounds.  The toddler size prefold is designed to fit up to 45 pounds.  This is great for larger kids and for kids that do not potty train as early as others.

  1. When filling out the entry form for the OsoCozy giveaway I was wondering if there was much of a difference between bleached and unbleached, other then visual (not sure how that matters either). Thanks for sharing your findings.

  2. I found that the bleached were a little less absorbent. Other than that...it is a personal preference.
