A few weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to review a costume from Wholesale Costume Club. I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to review this item since Miss A is into dress up right now. She just cannot get enough dress up!
After a long debate with Mr. TMG, we decided on the Supergirl costume in a Size 2t-4t. We were both so excited and could not wait for it to arrive and see how Miss A would feel about it.
When the package arrived, I ripped it open immediately to see what the costume looked like. My first impression was how absolutely cute and adorable the costume was. My second impression was the amazing quality of the costume! The local super-center just does not have this quality of costume!
The top (navy blue) part of the costume is made from a plush velour feeling polyester. It is so nice and soft to the touch! The rest of the costume and shoe covers is made from a soft shimmery laminated polyester similar to that found on many cloth diapers!
And how do you get this get-up on a squirmy toddler? Easy! The maker of this costume designed it to easily go on to a child! Simply pull the dress over the kiddos head, then Velcro the neck shut, Velcro the cape on, and Velcro the belt shut. The shoe covers are an easy pull on with Velcro to secure the strap across the bottom of the shoe.
Now, the real test…what did Miss A think? Well, let me put it this way…it has been hard to get her OUT of the Supergirl costume! She loves it! She comes down in the morning and immediately grabs it out of the bin and wants me to put it on. Then I about have to tackle her to get it off for naptime and bedtime!
I have hand washed and line dried this costume 2-3 times. It is still in perfect shape, with only a few loose threads here and there. Stains and food washed off easily and it seems to be very well made!
Overall, I was very impressed with this costume from the Wholesale Costume Club! It is well made, stood up to washing and wearing well, it is adorable, and best of all Miss A absolutely loves it! I do feel that this costume is sized well (Miss A is a 2t/3t) and there is room to grow in the costume! Also, since it is quality construction, I feel confident, that the costume will still be perfect shape come Halloween time. Provided Miss A is still into Supergirl, this costume would be perfect!!
