Fluff Bling Review and Giveaway

A few months back, you saw me announce the arrival of "Fluff Bling!"  A very smart mama somewhere came up with this amazing idea that with a simple SNAP we could jazz up otherwise drab cloth diapers.  All fluff is adorable, but let's face it...some diapers are more adorable than others.  And Fluff Bling can add a little pizzazz to almost any diaper.

What is Fluff Bling?  Fluff Bling is simply an embroidered patch with a snap on the back that can easily be applied and removed to many cloth diaper brands.  Fluff Bling comes in a variety of adorable patches!

Fluff Bling will attach to most cloth diapers that have snaps.  This product works best with OS diapers that have a center row of rise snaps but will also work with diapers that have a snap closure around the waist provided you are not using the smallest setting.

Obviously, Fluff Bling cannot be used on diapers that do not have snaps.  I also found it difficult and annoying for my child if I put the Fluff Bling on an outside row of snaps.  Tots Bots below shows how close the Fluff Bling is to baby's leg and it can rub/scratch and be annoying.

Tots Bots Easy Fit

Overall, I absolutely LOVE Fluff Bling.  The patches are absolutely adorable and can jazz up most any diaper.  Miss A loves her "moo" as she calls it!  It is her little game to move the cow from her old diaper to her new one.

The Fluff Bling is trim enough that you do not have to remove it when putting clothing over the diaper, but what fun is that?  No one can see!  So we remove the bling when putting clothes on!

Warning:  For younger children, please supervise.  Remove Fluff Bling from diapers prior to washing to avoid damaging diaper and/or Fluff Bling.  And remove at bedtime.

This is an adorable and SMART idea!  And the price for a little bit of bling for your diapers is absolutely unbeatable!  For just $3.45 you can have your own little piece of bling!

GoGreen Pocket Diaper Review

This review is for the original version of the GoGreen Pocket Diaper.

Fit:  8-35+ pounds

Price Per Diaper:  ★★★★★  The original GoGreen Pocket diaper as shown in this review retails for 8.99-9.99 making it one of the most affordable pocket diapers on the market.  The newer version (the Champ diaper) retails for $15.95 which is still a very affordable price for a pocket diaper.  Overall, the prices are fabulous!  And they come in such adorable prints and colors!

Leaks:  ★★★☆☆  The inner of this diaper is a soft suedecloth that is very comfy for baby and the diaper comes with a single 3 layer microfiber insert for in the pocket.  I found that this insert alone just did not cut it.  During the day, the original insert was enough, but for naps and night I needed to add more/other inserts to the pocket.  The diaper has elastic around the legs and at the back waist to hug baby and prevent leaks and blow outs.  Very comfortable diaper for baby.

Fit:  ★★★★☆  This diaper features a 3 snap down rise on the front of the diaper to adjust the rise of the diaper for your baby as he/she grows.  There is also a single row of snaps across the waist and two side by side snaps on the tabs to close the diaper.  I found that this diaper did not always have the perfect fit around the waist due to my daughter being between snap settings.

Ease of Use:  ★★★★☆  Overall, this diaper was quite easy to use.  The elastic around the pocket is very stretchy and the pocket itself is quite large to make stuffing a breeze.  My only complaint is the waist snaps.  Finding the perfect snap setting for your baby can be a challenge if they are between settings.  Also, you do need to have additional inserts on hand for naps/night or if you have a heavy wetter.

Washing:  ★★★★★  This diaper was a breeze to wash.  Due to the generous pocket, un-stuffing is a cinch.  The minky outer and the suedecloth inner washed beautifully and I do not see any signs of wear or tear anywhere on the diaper after many uses!  This diaper looks brand new!

Overall:  ★★★★☆  I love the adorable and abundant assortment of prints and colors that these diapers come in.  Even better, the price is just fabulous!  The fit of the diaper is mostly ok, which is an acceptable trade off for the price.  But the absorbency stinks and the diaper definitely needs more/different inserts.  Overall, I would recommend this diaper provided you save some extra money for additional inserts!

Bee Changed OS Bamboo Diaper Review and Giveaway

I had been hearing about The Little Bee Co. Bee Changed Diapers for a while and how wonderful the diapers are.  But what really struck me about this Diaper company is their mission!  When you first go to the website for Bee Changed Diapers, the Header has their company name and mission all right there.  "The Little Bee Co.  Bee Changed and Change the World."  And they strive to do just this!  For every diaper purchased from The Little Bee Co., they donate one diaper to an orphan in need.  How amazing is this!!??  I love it when companies give back!  It also makes me feel good when I buy diapers from them, because I know I am helping someone in need.  It also helps to feed the fluffy addiction...but we just won't talk about that! Ha!

I was sent a Bee Changed OS diaper in Bamboo for this review.  I have not used their Micro-suede OS diaper.

OS Diaper Fits:  8-35 pounds  (Miss A is approx 30 pounds and still has lots of room to grow in this diaper)

They also make a Bitty Bee Changed Diaper (newborn diaper) that fits: preemie to 12 pounds and features a snap down for the umbilical cord.  I really hope to snag one of these for baby boy!

Price Per Diaper:  ★★☆☆☆  Ick.  I hate to give this diaper a two star anything!  But, this diaper does retail for $21.95.  In all honesty, most OS diapers are somewhere in the $18-20 range anyway, and this diaper has a ton of amazing features including the bamboo inner that makes the extra couple of dollars well worth it.  The Micro-Suede version of this diaper retails for $19.95 and the Bitty Bee Changed newborn diaper retails for $14.95.  Overall, the prices for these diapers are quite average and well priced for the benefits that you are getting.  Reviews like this one make me hate my own rating system because it deserves more than two stars!

Leaks:  ★★★★★  Ding Ding Ding!  We have a winner!  If you are looking for a diaper with ultimate leak-proof-ness (yes I am going to make up my own words) this is THEE one!  We did not have any leaks with this diaper and I used it on Miss A for day, nap, and night!!!  My little super-soaker did not get past this one! The inner is 100% all natural bamboo fleece which is hypo-allergenic (no rashes here) and wicks moisture away from baby extremely well without retaining smells, bacteria, etc.  The outer is a very nice soft and stretchy PUL that contains messes and leaks.  The inserts consist of a full size adjustable insert and a contour newborn insert (quite similar to the RAR 6r inserts) so that you can fully customize the inserts to fit your child's absorbency needs.  I personally keep the two snapped together for optimum absorbency and had no problems for nap or night!  Superior absorbency!

Fit:  ★★★★★  This diaper (for a snap diaper) has excellent fit!  This diaper features a 3 setting snap down rise to fit your child at multiple stages of childhood as well as two rows of snaps across the waist to secure the diaper on.  The diaper also has crossover tabs for those smaller waisted children.  What sets this diaper apart is the elastic in the front waist.  When you first look at the elastic, it looks strange and the diaper appears small.  But this elastic allows you to get the perfect fit around the waist while maintaining contact with baby's skin to prevent leaks.  The back waist also has more elastic to get that perfect fit.  For comparison, I feel that this diaper fits similarly to the Blueberry and Swaddlebees OS pocket diapers only with the addition of the front elastic which I feel sets this diaper superior to the others in terms of fit and preventing leaks.

Ease of Use:  ★★★★☆  This diaper is very similar to other pocket diapers in terms of ease of use.  This diaper is extremely easy to use.  I only took on point off because of that front elastic.  It can take a little extra effort and time than the flat fronted diapers since you have to stretch and fiddle a little more with the snaps.  Even after weeks of using this diaper, I frequently had to snap and unsnap to get it on the right setting because that elastic makes it hard to see which snaps you want.  Once the diaper is on though....watch out!  This bad boy is tough!

Washing:  ★★★★★  This diaper is quite easy to wash.  No extra or odd wash instructions.  I used my normal wash routine and it washes perfectly.  No wear or tear after MANY uses, and trust me, this diaper is always in the wash!  We love it!  The bamboo has washed perfectly and has only retained one little stain that would probably easily sun out!

Overall Performance:  ★★★★★  I cannot say enough about this diaper.  We LOVE it!  It is well constructed to take a beating from your child and last a long time!  It is extremely absorbent!  The bamboo is amazing!  And best of all, this is an amazing company to support!  My only complaint was the little bit of difficulty getting the diaper on due to that front elastic, but the trade off is the superior fit and no leaks!  Well worth it!  Highly HIGHLY recommend this diaper!

Total Score 26/30

Happy Groundhog's Day!

As a rule, I try not to reveal too much personal information on this very public blog for the safety of my children. However, it is Groundhog's Day!  Groundhog's Day is very special for me because I grew up just a few miles away from Punxsutawney Pennsylvania!  Growing up in a small farming community in the middle of Pennsylvania nowhere was amazing.  I loved the air and the space and the people.  It is such a wonderful area and I am very proud to have grown up there (and hope to move back there one day).  And Groundhog's Day was always so special to me because it was the one and only time that the entire nation peeked in on our tiny little neck of the woods!  It was always so neat to see Punxsutawney and Phil on the national news and know that many people from around the country (and world) were looking in at us!

The festival has changed throughout the years, but one thing has remained constant: Phil.  Every year they pull this scared little guy out of his hole to see if he sees his shadow or not and predict the rest of winter.  Now, I have the utmost respect for Phil...but...most years he sees his shadow and let's face it...on February 2nd in western Pennsylvania...it is a pretty good bet that we are going to have six more weeks of winter!!!

And, for those of you who haven't heard...Phil saw his shadow this year!  Six more weeks of winter!

My family and many of my closest friends still live in the area...so if you are ever driving through a little town near Punxsutawney called "Home, PA" give a little chuckle and think of me!  For you doubters...yes, Home, PA is a for real town and no that X-Files episode was not filmed there nor based on actual events.

Also, a little shout out to one of my bestest friends...she was lucky enough to be born on Groundhog's Day and she is a cloth diapering, breastfeeding, babywearing mama!  Happy Birthday!!!  ;)

If you find Punxsutawney and Indiana on this map, Home is exactly 1/2 between them.  Right where the 119 symbol is!

This is your Geography lesson for the day...there will be a pop quiz later! :)
