All about Fitteds

What is a Fitted Diaper and why should I use one?

A Fitted is a tailor made diaper with an Aplix (velcro) or Snap closure that hugs close to baby.  This diaper does not require folding or stuffing but does require a waterproof cover over it as the fitted itself is not waterproof.  A fitted sits on the cloth diaper spectrum somewhere between prefolds and AIO's.  Fitteds are super absorbent like the prefolds, but have a closure system on them so you don't have to deal with pins or a snappi like you do with prefolds.  On the other side, Fitteds and covers are cheaper than most pockets or AIO's.

Pros:

Extremely Absorbent
Inexpensive
Simple to Use
Can use without waterproof cover to “air out” baby bum
Come in a variety of fabric options for comfort, absorbency, and preference
Many come in cute prints/patterns.

Cons:

Requires waterproof cover
Some may take a long time to dry depending on the fabric
Takes a little more time to get on baby over AIO or Pockets as it is a two step process.

It all comes down to preference, some parents prefer to use fitteds and some do not.  What do you think?
